  CAB CONDITION REPORTING (CCR)

EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1, 2006, A NEW METHOD FOR REPORTING CAB CONDITIONS IS AVAILABLE.

Cab Condition Reporting (CCR) is a new voice application which enables a conductor to directly access the BNSF computer system by MRAS/PBX radio or telephone in order to report Cab Conditions.

Conductors, who previously reported cab defects, should use this system in lieu of calling or toning the Mechanical Help Desk to report any Cab conditions not impacting a Locomotive's lead qualification.

The following cab conditions can be reported either by entering the corresponding number directly on the keypad or by voicing the defect.

Note: If the nature of the defect disqualifies a locomotive from lead use,

the caller should press '0', or voice 'Other'.

1     Water Cooler

2     Desk

3     Light

4     Cab Seals

5     Toilet

0     Other

The following information is required for reporting a cab condition. You will be prompted for each.  Keypad responses are available on all prompts except, ‘Station’

·          User Id

·          Train Id

·          Station (station name only , not state)

·          Locomotive Initial and Number

·          Defect

The reporting should be performed prior to departing your on-duty terminal.

Any other instructions for reporting Cab Conditions locally will remain in effect.

Conductors must inform their Engineers of any cab defects reported using this method so those defects can be included on the Engineer’s Locomotive Daily Inspection Report for that locomotive, provided one is being made during his/her trip.

In order to use this system, a conductor is required to register his or her voice print prior to their first use of the system.  NOTE:  Conductors who have previously registered using this system for other applications (VTR – Voice Train Reporting for set-outs and/or pick-ups) need not register again for CCR.

The  phone number for registration and to use the system is

(company) 593-7670, (commercial) (817) 593-7670, (Toll Free)

1-800-327-3230.  Press ‘2’ for Cab Condition Reporting (CCR)

Use of MRAS does not relieve a conductor from the requirement to monitor

the dispatcher's radio frequency.

Any telephone can be used.  When using a telephone on a train, be

governed by Rule 1.10 as amended by Item 14, System Special Instructions.

If you encounter any communications problems when using the MRAS/PBX,

please contact your trainmaster or local telecom rep at the conclusion of

your trip.  Provide them with detail of the problem, your location, and which

MRAS/PBX station you were trying to use when the problem occurred.
